Instancabile e appassionata Eliane ha fatto tanto per l'ikebana in Europa: è stata membro dell'EOTA da quando Jenny Banti l'ha fondata e per 5 anni Presidente in Svizzera; durante la sua carriera ha tenuto lezioni e seminari in molti paesi.
A succession of photographs to remember Eliane together, her energy and sympathy, her sweetness and depth. Tireless and passionate Eliane has done a lot for ikebana in Europe: she has been a member of EOTA since Jenny Banti founded it and president in Switzerland, for 5 years; during her career she has held lectures and seminars in many countries.

EOTA 1994, ricorda Maria Masera: Eliane organizzò una divertente serata e un teatrino molto spiritoso con varie storielle e personaggi travestiti. A dare spirito alla serata fu lei con la sua carica di simpatia.

Il giorno dopo organizzò una gita per assistere alla lavorazione del formaggio Emmenthal e ci offrì degli assaggi portando la famosa "tavola porta formaggi" sulle spalle!

Ricorda Maria Masera: Eravamo all'EOTA in Germania, era il compleanno di Ornella Rilke ed era stata preparata una torta per festeggiarla. Eliane, con un gran sorriso mi chiese: 'quand'è il tuo compleanno?' 'a Novembre' risposi. 'Ah! è vicino, possiamo festeggiare anche il tuo insieme a quello di Ornella', e cosi fece.
Maria Masera recalls: We were at EOTA in Germany, it was Ornella Rilke's birthday so, to celebrate it, a cake had been prepared. Eliane, with a big smile, asked me: 'when is your birthday?' 'in November,' I replied, 'Ah! it's near, we can also celebrate yours together with Ornella's,' and so she did.

Seminario 1998 di Marcel Vrignaud a La Cabanesse, sui Pirenei al confine con la Spagna. Ricorda Maria Masera: Lezione di Rinpa, tutte le composizioni erano piuttosto contenute. Alla fine Eliane disse: "si, sono molto belli" e poi con la sua energia inesauribile e l’eterno entusiasmo per tutto che la distingueva, propose: "adesso con questi ne faccio io uno grande" è compose su un grande tavolo il “suo personale Rinpa”. La giornata organizzata da Marcel per divertirci era dedicata alla Spagna perciò... tutti mascherati!

Ricorda Mauro Graf: "alle riunioni dell'EOTA, Eliane, che parlava benissimo varie lingue, è sempre stata la traduttrice delle mie conferenze che tenevo in francese; frequenti erano anche gli sketch che ogni singola nazione metteva in scena, nella foto io ero stato "prestato" alla Svizzera e con Eliane distribuivamo la cioccolata."
Mauro Graf recalls: "at EOTA meetings, Eliane, who spoke several languages very well, was always the translator of the lectures I held in French. Frequent were also the sketches that every single nation put on stage; the photo shows me, as I got involved in distributing Swiss chocolate with Eliane.

Seminario 2011 “Paesaggi d’autunno”, Scuola Agraria del Parco di Monza, Italia. Durante il seminario, organizzato dal nostro Chapter Milano, Eliane propose la composizione di paesaggi realistici interpretativi ispirati ad una poesia Haiku. Scelse per ogni studente un haiku e fornì ad ognuno un materiale vegetale che riteneva adatto ad esprimere il tema. Fu un seminario indimenticabile, che insegnò e ricordò a tutti il valore profondo del sentimento poetico giapponese così legato all'arte dei fiori.
During the seminar, organized by our Milan Chapter, Eliane proposed to arrange realistic interpretive landscapes inspired by a Haiku poem. For each student she chose a haiku and a plant fit for expressing the theme. It was an unforgettable seminar, which taught and reminded to everyone the profound value of Japanese poetic sentiment so tied to the art of flowers.

Eliane amava regalare origami di cicogna (orizuru) come segno beneagurante di salute e fortuna. Molti di noi l'hanno conservato (nella foto l'orizuro regalato a Manuela Fenini). Eliane loved to give stork origami (orizuru) as a sign of good luck and health. Many of us have kept it (in the photo Manuela Fenini's orizuru).
